Electronics are all around us, infused in our daily lives. Combining the 21st century electronic world with an instrument conceived in the 17th century results in Oboetronica. In these special performances, Teil imbues an electronically manipulated soundscape with the lyricism and beauty of Oboe performance merging improvisation, looping, and layering of textures in new and exciting performance art. Oboetronica features works by living composers, including her own compositions.

About Oboetronica
Oboetronica was born of curiosity and discovery, merging looping pedals and distortion effects to her lyrical oboe playing in the search to create new and exciting soundscapes. In 2018, she won first place at the Columbus Invitational Arts Competition All-Star Event representing Women in Music Columbus in a collaboration with Creative Women of Color performing art songs by African-American women composers she reimagined for Oboe and Looping Pedal. Teil has performed Oboetronica at the Charlotte Art League and at Charlotte BOOM, among other locations.
